My story
My appreciation for craftsmanship began as a kid, working alongside my dad on home projects, renovations, and rental remodels. Those experiences taught me the value of quality work and the satisfaction of creating something built to last.
After years in accounting and consulting, I found myself craving something more creative and tangible, and woodworking became that outlet.
Inspired by clean architecture and well-designed furniture, I began building pieces of my own, starting with an upholstered headboard and eventually designing a modern glass-top coffee table from scratch. When that table sold to a client for their contemporary home, I realized I wasn’t just creating for myself. I was creating pieces that others connected with and wanted in their homes.
That realization became the foundation for Matter & Grain.
